Are they more a woman's thing, like my wife tells me they are? Some of my workmates use RPG forums, but the wife says that's more normal (lol - she's not met them) than me liking this type of site.

Hehe, no I don't think it's unreasonable and it's always great to hear things from a male point of view. My OH and I are regular forum users but, as your wife has said, most of ours are gaming and RPG/online gaming related.
