AIBU to not take wine? Empty AIBU to not take wine?

Ok, Tonight is a friend of mines birthday,
We are all going to hers for a takeaway chinese.
I have bought her some nice (waitrose) candles in tins, £8 each but they are called after flowers which are also her daughters names.
Anyway.... we are all contributing to the takeaway (think it'll be £10.00 each)
I am driving so will may have one glass of wine.
Do you think its unreasonable not to take a bottle????
Am I being a cowbag?

Well...

YABabitU! If I was going to have a glass, then I might take a bottle anyway because I was drinking her wine and I'd want to replace it, iyswim. You'd buy a bottle in a pub to share, no? Or a round, maybe even two, even if you only had one alcoholic drink and one softie. A bottle of reasonable plonk isn't that expensive really, is it? And you're still going to get a glass of something as well, so I'd take the bottle.

No I suppose not, its more that I will have to drive to the shop to get it (10 mins in the opp direction) as I don't have anything here, aside from a half drunk pinot grigio???

I guess I am being unreasonable, everyone else will take wine and I don't want to just drink theirs be the only one without

I wouldn't bother taking any. The candles are a lovely, thoughtful gift ... no wine is needed. I wouldn't mind giving a friend a glass from my bottle! The night isn't costing your friend much by the sounds of things - perhaps it would be different if it was a dinner party or BBQ.

Just my opinion on the matter!

I wuldnt take a bottle either. then the temptation isnt there. ( nor would you have to tske money for the cab fare home). If I took a bottle I fear i would be tempted with more than one glass, but thats just we and I am a sucker for wine. HMMMMM there is some in my fridge think I may just go have some.
