Can I just add, although it's much too late now...that there are too many sub sections. I'm pretty much intrested in them all, but can live without a few. tantrum

I have finally properly found my way around today and ...

... I really like it.

Still fathoming who's who but generally the feel is a nice warm welcome, easy to navigate and now I have been through every thread and read them I can just look for new ones.

Well, yes i've replied in most of them. I think the best ones are parenting issues, General Business, Current Affairs,I've always liked AIBU, and I like the Silly Opinions.
I don't DISLIKE the others, I just think there are too many in MY opinion. Maybe, it's just a simple case of getting used to it.

I joined and then have not been around for one reason or another.But i like what i see so far and now things are calming here will make an effort to post a lot more

I do see what you mean Smartiepants. My idea was that some people would only be interested in certain topics/sections, so why not try to cater for as many as possible, within the realms of *opinion seeking*? Then people would post to the two or three sections which interested them.

Some people don't feel strongly about current affairs, but they might like discussing television and books, IYSWIM?

However, as time goes on, if some sections are noticably very quiet/rarely used, I'm sure they'll go or become merged with another section etc. It's a learning curve as to what people do and don't want.

Any feedback is welcome, whether that's positive OR negative - it's the only way the forum will evolve to become the way people want it!

Zog mentioned that we were only getting one email when someone responded to a post, just the once, for the post directly after the post you had made. This was a good thing!

I now seem to be getting hundreds... This is NOT a good thing!

I didn't change any settings for the email notifications ... I wonder if it's something you can control yourself via your profile? I'll nip on as Admin and see what I can see in the settings.

Jo - There's nowt in the Admin Settings bit (which is MASSIVE, btw, lol) ... but I found these bits in the normal profile settings bit (which I think any member can access) ...

You'll be warned if a reply was posted while you where writing a reply to the same topic

Topic is being watched tab - you can delete old ones that you don't want emails about.

Those might help?

P.S I've also just changed the message editor to allow WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) which will help people 'see' their words becoming bold, underlined, differently coloured etc! I like it!!

Is there a way to format your font so its always the same colour or do you have to change it each time?

Always tried to work that out in the other place too....

Not usually with standard forum software nope as they usually work from a central CSS (cascading style sheet) which is the thing that makes the background blue, the text black etc. So, to make any changes to that, you have to apply the HTML coding to the bit you want to change.
