Absolutely love him! But then, I'm biased as he lived not far away from me when he lived in North Yorkshire and he's a jolly nice man!

Love him but with a healthy dose of "oh fgs, be quiet now before you run out of planet".
I used to love his column in the MoS, quite missed him when he left. I also like his "Short History" which makes science and history quite understandable for us numpties.

I've only read one (Notes From a Small Island). Deeply unfunny I thought, so didn't bother with any others.
