Gossiping/Bitching
Do you gossip? Are you often well-informed as to local goings on, online dramas, friends predicaments, neighbour disputes etc ... or do you prefer to keep yourself to yourself?
Do you think gossip is an invaluable tool for modern day living?
Would you ever repeat gossip?
Have you ever been the subject of damaging gossip?
When does gossiping become bitching?
WYOO - Gossip?

Re: Gossiping/Bitching
Gossiping is fun if it is kept general. When people start sniping at people and going out of their way to upset someone then that is when it becomes unacceptable. I don't understand why people do this in life let alone on the internet with people you do not know.

I love gossiping and long as it's harmless and isn't going to hurt anyone. That's when it turns into bitching.

I like to know what's going on and have got the kind of personality which means people often confide in me. However, I pride myself on being able to keep secrets where necessary and think that if I didn't, I wouldn't be trusted as much as I am. I think it is much more satisfying to be in a position of knowledge than to pass on gossip and hurt people's feelings.

Re: Gossiping/Bitching
I'm extremely nosy and always like to know what's going so I do enjoy a bit of gossiping but I let others start it off rather than me prying.
I would never repeat anything that had been told in confidence or anything that I felt would hurt others though.
I'm nosy but I'm not a bitch (At least I like to think I'm not).
I have been the subject of damaging gossip and it's really not nice. There will always be people who take things to far with gossiping who seem to get a real kick out of causing others misery.

Gossip? What's that?
I love to listen but because I rarely pass it on, no one bothers to tell me things.

Re: Gossiping/Bitching
I confess, I love a bit of gossip. I like to know things. I am nosy, and also genuinely interested. However, while I usually tell DP gossip I hear (unless I have been asked not to) I don't pass it further, just out of respect.
How would I like my gossip to be treated?

I LOVE gossip, I love to be told it but then only pass it onto to DH. Unless it is open information when the phone lines are buzzing!!

Oh yes who does not like a bit of goosip over that garden fence i certainly do. But if it is more serious or i think it is, i usually turn a blind eye to it as nothing worse than giving someone the third degree if they turned out to be totally innocent
