Should some adverts be banned?
Are there just some things that shouldn't be advertised?
Do you think that some products don't need to be advertised?
What would you like to see no longer advertised?

Re: Should some adverts be banned?
TBH I'm not sure, I have been thinking about it, and I don't think banning adverts serves any real purpose.
(anyone with stats, I am willing to be proven wrong, as I can only go on how they affect me)
The only ads that have ever worked on me were the kids stuff when I was little, they made me want loads of stuff that was expensive and impractical. Nowadays I am so jaded and cynical that I don't believe much advertising, adn while I will often try a new food item / drink etc because it is new, I don't tend to buy things on adverts alone.
Don't think it's necessary to ban adverts, even for kids things, teaching them that an advert is just a way to make you buy that over something else, or teaching them to check out reviews and so on before deciding to buy something, or to save for something is not bad, and I remember enjoying the ads when Iw as a kid, even though I KNEW I would never own any of the things in them!

Re: Should some adverts be banned?
I hate to see all of the toy adverts inbetween childrens programmes. Personally I don't think that any advertising should be directed at children.
I do think that they should ban the otex eardrops advert though, there's just no need!!
