I need a hug

My cat died tonight.

She was 15 years old, and beautiful inside and out. Tonight she lay down and couldn't get up. We stroked her and kissed her and cried over her, and she purred and nudged us, and curled her paws in my hand. Then DH lifted her gently into her basket and took her to the vet. He said it was a massive stroke, but she was in no pain.

When purry buddies go it's very hard. What a lovely way to go though. I want to go like Amy, surrounded by those who love me, feeling secure and loved.

OH Dee, what an awful thing to have to deal with. You have obviously loved her and given her a great life. Big Hugs to you and your family.

What a lucky kitty she was though! She was lucky to have such a caring, attentive family and lucky to have all that love to take with her to the Other Side. Yes, I do believe pets go to Heaven too. I really do.

I'm so sorry, it's awful losing a part of your family, especially one who's been around so long.

Thank goodness she wasn't in any pain, and I can tell she was a happy and well loved kitty. You gave her a very good life, just remember that.

Sending you loads of hugs, it's heart breaking to lose an animal but especially after having had her for so long.

I can honestly say I know how you feel. We also lost our long-loved cat on friday too. She had been ill for a while, and so we made the very hard decision to end her suffering. The vet came here, so she didn't have to go through an upheaval.

Thinking of you, and knowing that this is a hard time.
