Jaffa cakes - biscuit or cake?
What's your view on
So, as the poll says, Jaffa Cakes, biscuit or cake? Ie should they be taxed or not?

I was always told that when biscuits go stale, they go soft and when cakes go stale, they go hard. As Jaffa Cakes go hard when they go stale, I presume that means they're cakes.
I don't care as I eat them regardless!

They are evil horrible things and I won't buy them regardless of what they are, so it doesn't matter either way

I LOVE JAFFA CAKES!!!!
I consider myself highly disciplined if I open a packet and a single biscuit goes back in the cupboard. Oh, I guess that means they are biscuits. I don't care what they are, just gimme....

How can you not like jaffa cakes?!
And yep, the argument was that it was a cake and so exempt from tax when the Government tried to get it changed to a biscuit, which is apparently taxed as a luxury goods, or something like that anyways!

so if they changed the name to bisucuits does that mean that there would be no tax on the thus making them cheaper.

No, if they were a biscuit, they'd be dearer because they'd be taxed as a luxury item under VAT laws.
